FRIDAY, JULY 23, 7 PM TO 10 PM. THE EXHIBIT HALL WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR
VIEWING IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PARADE ON SATURDAY MORNING.
EXHIBITS MUST BE PICKED UP BETWEEN 3:00 AND 4:30 PM SATURDAY.
4. EITHER THE OLD TAGS OR THE NEW TAGS WILL BE ACCEPTABLE ON ENTRIES.

EXHIBITOR'S GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Exhibitors must have a 2011 Ag. Soc. Membership ($5.00 if entering an adult
class). No other exhibiting fees will be charged.
2. Bench show entries will be accepted from 5 to 7 pm July 21 and from 5 to 7 pm July 22, 2011.
Entries will be judged from 7 to 10 pm Friday, July 23, 2011.
3. All exhibits must be properly tagged, specifying section, class and name
according to the Alberta Horticultural Guide. Age must also be specified for kids.
4. All entries must be recorded on entry forms. Watch for entry form marked
Juniors or Adults.
5. If you need additional entry forms, please use the extra photocopied ones
rather than taking an additional book. Thanks.
6. Exhibits must have been raised, produced or made by the Exhibitor and must not have been entered in the Eaglesham Fair before.
7. Only one article per exhibitor may be entered in all adult and junior
CLASSES (examples of class in V1 or H3, etc), except for the following: in vegetables,
grains, seeds and flowers, only one entry per family will be allowed
except Juniors categories in vegetables, grains and flowers.
8. All Junior Classes are limited to children 16 years of age and under.
9. Judges may refuse to award any prize if, in their opinion, the entries are not worthy of a prize.
10. The fair committee will endeavour to prevent the loss or damage to exhibits, but will not be held responsible for any damage which may occur.
11. The fair committee reserves the right to decide any point not covered by the Rules and Regulations.
12. Juniors may enter the adult categories but points accumulated in adult
categories will not be added to points accumulated in junior categories for the purpose of overall points.
13. Whenever possible, please display on white paper plates.
14. No purchased mixes are allowed for baked items unless specified.
15. The Agricultural Society is not responsible for any special prizes.
16. Please cover all perishables with plastic.
17. Attach tags to the plates, not to the covering bags.
18. Prizes, unless otherwise stated, are as follows:
1st prize (3 points) - $5.00 2nd prize (2 points) - $3.00 3rd prize (1 point) - $2.00
19. Tags/fair books may be picked up at: All in One Convenience and CP Services (Eaglesham); Big Buck (Tangent); Jay's Pantry (Wanham); Eaglesham Fairgrounds; from any member of the board.
20. Please notice the Fair book design competition for 12 to 16 year olds. Check the category for instructions.
21. Bench show items: Please remove items from the bench show display between 3:00 and 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. If you cannot remove them yourself during this time, please designate someone (not a bench show volunteer) to get them for you. The Ag. Board will not be responsible for items left after the assigned time. Leftover items and prize money will be forfeited to the Ag. Society.

FIELD GRAINS
Rules for adult classes.
1. All grain sheaves to be 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. The length to be 24 inches or less and should be tied in three places.
2. List variety names where possible.
3. Grain should be hand cleaned. It should be exhibited in a clear glass jar, marked with the variety name.
4. All grains should be grown by the exhibitor, except for junior class.
5. All sheaves should be stripped of leaves and must be intended for seed.

If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' somebody else's dog around.

Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin' it back in.
Good judgment comes from experience and a whole lot of that comes from bad judgment.

VEGETABLES & FRUIT
Rules for adult and junior classes.
1. All vegetables should be clean and fresh, of moderate size or above for the variety.
2. All vegetables should be reasonably free from blemishes caused by insects,
diseases, soil, breaks, bruises or sun.
3. All vegetables of one kind shown should be the same size, shape
colour, and maturity. Size should be moderate, not overly large.
4. Taproots are to be trimmed to a reasonable length - about 1.4 inches
on root crops such as beets, carrots and turnips.
5. Vegetables should be displayed on paper or styrofoam plates with tags
attached to plates.

FLOWERS. not Artificial - Presentation Suggestions
1. With flowers, individual blooms are shown with only one bloom open per stem.
If an extra bud is present, it must be in the right stage so that it will not lower the
rating of the exhibit. Stem and foliage are not considered.
2. With flowers that have multiple blooms, stems are shown. This will include
such flowers as sweet peas, stocks and phlox. The number of blooms open will
be to the advantage of the exhibit.
3. Try not to have any faded petals.
4. All exhibits should be well groomed, both plants and containers.

PHOTOGRAPHY
NOTE: NEW RULES
1. No photo in any category may be larger than 5" by 7" (they may be smaller)
2. No entries accepted that have been shown at previous fairs.
3. Mountings for pictures must be a firm backing, no more than 1/2" to 1" larger than the picture
and must be cream, off white or black in colour. (ie. The border must be 1/2 to 1 inch )
4. Only one photo allowed per entrant per class.
5. You may write captions on the borders.
6. All photos must have been taken by the exhibitor.
7. If photos have been manipulated (as with Photoshop or other program) please note this on
the entry tag.
